Heavy Lift Ship Pantanal anchored off Rossaveal Co Galway in light fog

Pantanal arrived at Rossaveal to carry to former Aran Island ferries that were operated by Island Direct that ceased operations, the ferries Clan Eagle 1 and Clan Na Oilean were sold to a company in Mauritius, during the night a storm with winds of 80mph forced the Pantanal to drag her anchors and she went aground on rocks where she was damaged. She was re-floated by the Shannon based tug Celtic Isle
