"Galway Bay" on the Aran Island Service Taken From Aer Arann Islander832 views1964 - CALSHOT was sold to a subsidiary of Holland America Line and renamed 'GALWAY BAY'. She was based in Galway on the West Coast of Ireland and used to ferry passengers from the liners 'MAASDAM' and 'RYNDAM' in the bay, to Galway harbour. Following the decline in the Liner trade due to the Jet Airliner she then became a ferry taking tourists and Islanders from Galway to the Aran Islands. She was a well loved vessel on this route and also operated night cruises on Galway Bay for a time.
She was purchased by The Calshot Trust and returned to Southampton where she is today being restored as the Tug "Calshot"
